Coaching Staff
Softball Staff: 

Jennifer Banas – former college softball player at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Coach Banas is in the top five for every category for all time pitching records at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and pitched in the College World Series in 1994. One of the top fastpitch pitching instructors in the area, Coach Jennifer does private lessons and is an instructor for our winter training programs.

Shelton Grant -
1986-1990 played varsity baseball at Western Carolina under then head coach Jack Legget. Started two years as the Catamounts left fielder and lead off batter and was a member of two Southern Conference championship teams. After a solid college career, Shelton went own to work six years in the New York Yankees minor league system in a administrative capacity. During this time he began instructing and coaching young baseball players in the Piedmont Triad Area. Shelton has a strong dedication to the game and believes that with hard work, commitment, and proper instruction any young person can achieve at any endeavor. Shelton is available for team, group & individual softball instruction.
Chet Greeson – Head Coach at Hopewell High School.
Jasmine Young – former college softball player at South Carolina State University.
Coach Young was a four year player at shortstop for South Carolina State University. She is also an experienced travel team coach. Coach Young does private lessons and is an instructor for our winter training programs. She also is an instructor in our HQ4Baseball & Softball Summer Camp Program.
Baseball Staff:

Hal Bagwell – Head Coach at Ardrey Kell High School.
Coach Bagwell is one of the best coaches in the state, winning the NC 4A High School State Championship in 2009, and finishing 2nd in the state in 2008. He is also a coach for USA Baseball, helping select national teams to represent the USA in international competition. We are proud to have Coach Bagwell as the Camp Director for the HQ4Baseball & Softball Summer Camp Program. Coach Bagwell also does instruction during the winter at our indoor facility.

Daniel Bilotta - Head Coach Northeast Middle School
Coach Bilotta played at South Mecklenburg '93-'96, coached the JV team at South Meck High School under Hal Bagwell in '97 ( record 10-2 conference champs). Danny coached the freshman team at Watauga High school in '00 ( record 7-1 ) and was an assistant varsity coach at Watauga in 2001. He also served as an assistant varsity coach to Chet Greeson at East Meck High School in 2002 as well as the JV head coach. He is currently Head Coach at Northeast Middle School. Coach "B" is available for individual, group or team instruction.

Mike Daniel - professional baseball player
Mike played at South Mecklenburg High School from 1999-2002. Was an all-conference and all-state outfielder/pitcher selection in 2002, as he hit .415 at the plate and went 6-2 on the mound as a pitcher. Daniel then attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he played in a total of 164 games at UNC and had career numbers of .308 with 7 HR and 64 RBI, along with a total of 31 doubles and 4 triples. In 2005, Daniel was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 7th Round (204th pick overall). He is currently in the Colorado Rockies system at AAA. Mike is available in the off season for team, group or individual instruction.

Chet Greeson – Head Coach at Hopewell High School.
Jeff Long - former college and professional player - Atlant Braves
Jeff played high school ball in highly tauted Cobb County, Georgia where he earned All State honors his senior year. He then went on to play collegiate baseball at Gardiner-Webb University where he broke several career pitching records at GWU.
After his senior year, he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 12th round of the 2004 MLB draft. He went on to play 6 years of pro ball compiling 33 wins and 450 innings pitched with a career professional ERA of 3.91 before retiring in 2010.
Jeff has coached at HQ4Baseball during his off seasons since 2005, and is now available year round. He is the head coach of our Clippers 10U and 14U baseball team and is available for team, group, and individual instruction. He is also a coach in our winter program as well as an instructor for our summer camps.
Morris Madden
We are very pleased to have Coach Madden's expertise and wisdom available to our players. He has a great rapport with all players but especially with left handed pitchers. Coach Madden has 9 years pro baseball experience as a left handed reliever. He was drafted in by the Pirates 1979. Coach Madden also played for the Dodgers during his career. Coach Madden is available for group or individual instruction.

Travis Poole – Head Coach at Weddington High School.
Coach Poole has an excellent background in coaching, and runs one of the top high school programs in the area, Weddington High School Coach Poole brings a strong presence to our winter training programs as a lead instructor. He also does private lessons, and is a lead instructor for the HQ4Baseball & Softball Summer Camp Program.
Joey Robinson - former player at Appalachian State University
Joey played at Providence High School in Charlotte, and received a baseball scholarship to Applachian State University where he played in over 180 games in his 4 year college career. He has been an instructor for Doyle Academy. Joey is the Head Coach of our Clippers 15U baseball team, and coaches in our winter programs.
Spencer Stecher – Head JV and Asst. Varsity Coach at Ardrey Kell High School.
Coach Stecher has a strong background as a player, and has over 15 years experience as a coach, including the last three years at the top high school program in North Carolina, Ardrey Kell High School. Coach Stecher is the Player Development Coordinator for the Clippers Developmental Travel Team Program run by HQ4Baseball. He also does private lessons, coaches in our winter programs, and is an instructor for the HQ4Baseball & Softball Summer Camp Program.
Adam Whiting – former college baseball player at Kent State University.
Coach Whiting was a four year player at Kent State University, and was also an instructor in the KSU Youth Baseball Program. He is an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Specialist. Coach Whiting is an instructor for our winter training programs, a coach in the Clippers Developmental Travel Team Program, and is available for team, group, or private lessons specializing in catcher development.
