Dominant Eye

You have to see the ball to hit the ball. Yes, it's an old cliché but it's true.

Grip

Hold the bat in your fingers, not your palms!

Grip 2

Line up your "door knocking knuckles" for increased bat speed and control.

Stance

Too many youth players attempt to imitate the pros and don't get started with a good stance.

Load or Trigger

Keep your weight back during the swing. You have to get back to stay back. Look for a line from shoulder to hip to knee to ankle to see if your player is getting back.

Stride

The stride is always SHORT, SOFT and STRAIGHT!

Palm Up / Palm Down

Good hitters have many ways of getting to certain "spots" but they all end up in this position at contact.

Finish

Strong, hips snaped through leaving back foot turned like "squashing a bug", front side is straight and solid, head on the ball at impact.
